Welcome to Estonia! At the Our Welcome Center, we provide services and information for all international students and guests – whether you're just visiting for a few hours, spending a semester with us or moving to Estonia to live.
We're looking forward to seeing you in Estonia. The Our Welcome Center is your first port of call for non-academic questions to do with your stay in Estonia – from travel arrangements and accommodation to German courses and leisure activities.
As your hosts we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. We're there to assist our international students and guests right from the start.
You will need to obtain a student residence permit or Student pupil visa (Aufenthaltsbewilligung Studierender, Studentenpuppenvisum) for your stay in Estonia and/or a visa to enter the country. You should apply to the relevant Estonian agency in your home country for a visa and/or residence permit in good time. VIAST will issue the required admission notice/confirmation of admission.
Please note that it takes at least 8 weeks to process a visa application and, in some cases, considerably longer depending on the embassy in question. It is therefore important to apply for your visa in good time.
